STUDENT BULLETIN FOR NOVEMBER 15
Ø COLLEGE AWARENESS: This is College awareness week. Participate in the many college awareness activities and win prizes. The contests include college pennant, class college posters, Williams Fight song or cheer, wear a college shirt day on Wednesday, and a guessing competition to enter at all lunches. Listen for clues and further announcements in the daily bulletin or ask your teachers for details.
Ø COLLEGE SHIRT WEDNESDAY: Don’t forget to come by the multipurpose room at lunch today if you are wearing a college shirt to collect your prize. Also that is where you can submit your answers to the daily college questions.
Ø COLLEGE QUESTION OF THE DAY: Submit your answer at lunch in the cafeteria.
o Tuesday: What is the name of the oldest university in the United States?
o Wednesday: How many California state universities are there? List 2 of them.
Ø BASKETBALL GAME TODAY: Our girls’ varsity team is playing against Monte Vista here today at 4:30pm. Go Wildcats!
Ø THANKSGIVING BREAK: This Friday is the last day of school before Thanksgiving Break. It is a regular day with 2:35pm dismissal. There is no school from Mon, Nov 20 through Fri, Nov 24th. We return to school on Monday, Nov 27th.
Ø HONOR ROLL REWARDS T-SHIRTS: Please be sure to turn in your order forms before break. They must be turned in before Thanksgiving break. If you do not turn it in, you will not get a shirt, so turn it in right away.
Ø 8th GRADE INFORMATION: Watch this section for info on up-coming High School Registration.
o West High Space & Engineering Academy: Pick up information & applications at the student window. The deadline to apply is Friday, Jan 12th. Representatives from West High will be here on Thursday to present their program to all 8th grade science classes.
o Kimball High 8th Grade Academic Programs Fair: This Thursday, Nov 16th at the Kimball High Athletic Complex from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Come & meet our staff & learn about the programs we offer: AVID, Freshman Medical Health Services Academy, Leadership.
o High School Registration: High School counselors will be here at school on Tue, Nov 28, to give out the high school applications & talk to 8th graders about high school. They will return the following week to pick up completed applications.
Ø YEARBOOKS: Yearbooks are on sale now for $30. You can purchase them at the student window or on-line at www.yearbookforever.com . The price will go up after winter break, so take advantage of this sale price before it goes away.
Ø WILLIAMS SPORTS:
o C0-ED VOLLEYBALL: Practice is on Wed in the gym at 7:00am-8:00am in the morning & at 2:40pm-3:40pm in the afternoon. If there is a basketball game on any Wednesday, practice will be cancelled. See Mr. Beaken in Rm 56 with questions.
o GIRLS’ BASKETBALL: Please see Mr. Beaken in room 56 for more information.

o BOYS’ BASKETBALL will start in January after winter break.
Ø OUTSIDE ACTIVITIES: Watch this section for any outside sports or other activities.
o GIRLS’ SOFTBALL: Tracy Express is taking registration for their 2018 year. Practices will begin in February with games starting in March. Go to their website: www.tracyexpress.com or email email@example.com. Info Postcards are available at the student window or from a PE teacher.
o BASKETBALL FOR GIRLS & BOYS: Register with the City of Tracy for the Jr Warriors Basketball Program. It is for girls & boys in 3rd – 8th grade. Info postcards are available at the student window. o CROSS COUNTRY: Fundamental Youth Sports track & field. Flyers are available in the office or you can get more information at www.5northtrack.com
o Animé Club: Meets every Thursday after school in Room 17. (Mr. Lincoln)
o Chess Club: Meets every Friday in the Library from 2:40pm – 3:40pm. (Questions? See Mr. Kerin, rm 21)
o Creative Cats Art Club: Meets every Friday after school in Room 8 from 2:40pm – 3:40pm. (Mrs. Jarvis)
