- As a parent, how can I help my student?
- Effective communication is the key. Know what is expected of your student, what their homework is each night, and what assignments are due. Enable your student to succeed by promoting regular attendance, facilitating additional help outside of the classroom when needed, and promoting a strong work ethic.
- Articulated Classes
- Articulated classes allow students to earn college credit for classes taken at West High. The procedures for obtaining articulated credit vary by college – check with the teacher for specific information. To date, the following courses have been articulated:
- Algebra 2 Honors
- Precalculus Honors

- Advanced Placement
- The Math department is an active participant in the West High School Advanced Placement program. An AP (Advanced Placement) course is a college level course that is taught at the high school level. AP exams are given each spring. Students that score well can earn college credit. The exams taken by WHS mathematics students include:
- Calculus
- Statistics
