  • Promotion Eligibility Information
    Please be aware that teachers will be notifying the counselors by Wednesday May 14, 2014 if your students is earning an 'F' grade in their class.  Eligibility for promotion activities may be affected by this reporting.  It could be as late as Thursday May 15, 2014 before the completed exclusion list is prepared, so please plan accordingly if your child is at risk of not being eligible to participate in promotion activities.Please be aware that teachers will be notifying the counselors by Wednesday May 14, 2014 if your students is earning an 'F' grade in their class.  Eligibility for promotion activities may be affected by this reporting.  It could be as late as Thursday May 15, 2014 before the completed exclusion list is prepared, so please plan accordingly if your child is at risk of not being eligible to participate in promotion activities.

    Participation in Promotion Activities (Trip, Dance, Ceremony) is grade based.  In order to remain eligible for promotion activities a student's 'F' grades must not total more than 1/5 of the number of grades for the year.  Students enrolled in support classes are excluded at the 4th 'F' earned.  Students enrolled in any other electives are excluded at the 5th earned 'F'.
  • Promotion Ceremony Information
    Due to the anticipated size of the crod for the promotion ceremony there are two assemblies planned.  The groups are divided by core teacher.  The first assembly will be Friday May 30, 2014 at 8:30 AM and the second assembly will be Friday May 30, 2014 at 11:30 AM.
     

       The 8:30 AM assembly will consist of students in the core classes of Zinnel, Lynch, Alldredge and Chakraverty.
       The 11:30 AM assembly will consist of students in the core classes of Wyant, Ross, and Reese

    You must have a wristband in order to attend the ceremony.  Five wristbands will be issued to each student for their guests.  There will be two colors of wristebands, one for each assembly and you must have the correct color wristband to be allowed admittance.  No strollers will be allowed in the auditorium.

    The wristbands may be picked up in the office between May 19th and May 23rd from 8:00 AM until 3:00 PM Monday through Friday.

    If your family needs additional wristbands they can be requested by contacting our school secretary, Mrs. Woodman, at 830-3340 extension 2.  If you get voicemail please leave a detailed message that includes the student's name and how many extra bands you are requesting.  We will do our best to honor the request, but please be aware that seating is limited
  • Promotion Trip Information
    On Wednesday May 28, 2014 the 8th grade class will be going on their promotion trip to Great America.  We will leave Monte Vista by bus approximately 8:30 AM and return to school apporximately 6:30 PM
