Extremely Important: All 7th and 8th graders must have up to date vaccinations, including the T-dap vaccination, before attending school. Please check your child's vaccination history and plan accordingly so that your child can start school on the first day, August 11, 2015.
All public schools are required to prepare and distribute a SARC (School Accountability Report Card). The purpose of the report card is to provide parents and the community with important information about each public school. A SARC can be an effective way for a school to report on its progress in achieving goals. The public may also use a SARC to evaluate and compare schools on a variety of indicators.  SARCs are prepared with information from the previous school year.  The 2013-14 SARCs can be obtained from the school website and district website at   Paper copies will be made available, upon request.
PARKING LOT SAFETY - Please stay in your lane and watch out for pedestrians so that everyone is safe. Also, ONLY staff cars are allowed in the back parking lot. Please do not let your child off there.
REMINDER - Whenever you pick up your student early from school, please remember to bring your ID to the office.  We check ID every time on every student to ensure our students' safety.  Thanks for your cooperation!
LANYARDS: Students are required to wear their IDs on a lanyard around their necks every day.  Please make sure that your child has the ID and lanyard ready to wear as he/she leaves for school. Thanks!

Dear Mustang Students and Families,
We had a great turn out for Parent Teacher Conference Week, about 600 families. Thank you for supporting your student! Report cards not picked up will be sent home with students.
Red Ribbon Week was a big success. There were daily spirit days with lots of fun dressing up and speading the drug free message to our students. The week culminated with a great Halloween Dance on Friday of Red Ribbon Week. Leadership did an awesome job of planning, decorating, buying food, hiring a DJ, etc. They worked hard for the very successful dance.
There are many activities and events coming up in November. Teachers are working hard, integrating the Common Core into classroom activities. Students are realizing that this is rigorous. We invite all students to free after school tutoring if they need help.
We look forward to our first Honor Roll Assembly. We also look forward to having some MVMS winners at the Red Carpet Event and Spelling Bee. Please come out to those events and support our school.
We also have a fundraiser at Buffalo Wild Wings to collect money for our electronic marquee, an important communication tool. You will soon see fliers for this event.
Finally, Monte Vista wishes our students and families a wonderful Thanksgiving Break. We hope you have lots of family time and make good memories. We are thankful that your student attends Monte Vista. Have a wonderful break.
