Staff Parking Lot

New signs have been posted in our staff parking lot. The staff parking lot is ONLY for staff and requires a permit to park in this area. Any vehicle parked in this area without a permit will be cited or towed by city officials. To ensure safety, our parking lot is monitored by the Tracy Police Department.

Attendance is IMPORTANT!

Teachers cannot teach students who are not in school. There is strong evidence that shows regular attendance can result in significant improvements in test scores.  Each month, our school goal is 98% attendance.

Closed Campus

All visitors must sign in at the office and wear a visitor's sticker.  We are a closed campus for the safety of all our students.

Hello George Kelly Family,               Dr Bunch picture

Welcome back to the 2018-2019 school year at George Kelly Elementary School.  We are thrilled to be a part of your child’s life, and know that this year will be filled with excitement, learning, and fun!  My name is Dr. Michael Bunch, and I am your child’s principal.  This is my second year serving the KES community.  We are Ohana.  As a family, it is our mission to ensure the highest levels of learning for all of the children we serve.
Prior to joining TUSD I taught middle school at Wicklund and Questa Elementary Schools in the Lammersville Unified School District.  During my tenure in LUSD, I had the privilege of serving as the vice principal of both Bethany and Questa Elementary Schools.  For the most recent three years—before coming to KES—I served as principal of Gustine Middle School.  These experiences have all helped me arrive to KES…my destination school!
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family.  I coach youth sports in the Tracy community.  Our family especially enjoys baseball and college football.  We love to travel, and take every chance to experience new places and people.
Walt Disney and Nick Saban are two of my heroes.  I absolutely believe that our KES Ohana will Keep Moving Forward, while we Trust the Process.  These two philosophies guide everything that we do here at KES.  Our commitment to your child is to push them further in their learning, and ensure that all students learn at high levels.  As your child’s principal, I am only one member of the KES Ohana.  It will take the entire family’s effort to help your child achieve the highest levels of learning.
We have a two-way learning partnership, and will continue to rely on your support as we continue our work with your child.  We will work tirelessly to help realize our fundamental goals…ensuring that each KES student learn at the highest levels possible, consistent with his/her capabilities, and leave this school fully prepared for ongoing success in high school and beyond.  I am thrilled to continue this journey with you all.  Go American Eagles!
