Staff Parking Lot

New signs have been posted in our staff parking lot. The staff parking lot is ONLY for staff and requires a permit to park in this area. Any vehicle parked in this area without a permit will be cited or towed by city officials. To ensure safety, our parking lot is monitored by the Tracy Police Department.

Attendance is IMPORTANT!

Teachers cannot teach students who are not in school. There is strong evidence that shows regular attendance can result in significant improvements in test scores.  Each month, our school goal is 98% attendance.

Closed Campus

All visitors must sign in at the office and wear a visitor's sticker.  We are a closed campus for the safety of all our students.

RE:     Intradistrict Transfers (BP 5116.1 and AR 5116.1)

Dear TUSD community members. The Governing Board desires to provide enrollment options that meet the diverse needs and interests of district students and parents/guardians, while also maximizing the efficient use of district facilities (BP 5116.1). The Board of Trustees also desires to provide options for schools of choice dependent upon space available. The parents/guardians of any student who resides within district boundaries may apply to enroll their child in any district school, regardless of the location of residence within the district. (Education Code 35160.5).

In that effort this letter provides a list of schools which may have space available for additional students for the 2018-2019 school year. A list of those schools and open enrollment applications shall be available at each school site, the district office and on the district’s website.

Schools that may have space available for additional students for the 2018-2019 school year include the following:

Bohn Elementary         North K-8                  Kimball High
Central Elementary      Monte Vista Middle   West High
Hirsch Elementary       Williams Middle
Jacobson Elementary
McKinley Elementary
Southwest Park Elementary
Villalovoz Elementary

Please note that open enrollment for intradistrict transfers is between October 15, 2017 and January 15, 2018.

Transfers for high school special programs are included in the above timeline. Although Tracy High School is not on the list for open enrollment, applications for special programs will still be accepted. Any intradistrict transfer requests received from the Academy or Program Coordinator will be processed by the District.

 Principal's Message

Dear George Kelly Families,

October is upon us.  First trimester progress reports were distributed to KES students on Friday, September 22, 2017, and the first trimester will come to an end on Friday, October 13, 2017.  Parent and teacher conferencing will happen the week of October 23-27, 2017.  Please do reach out to your child’s teacher(s) to schedule a conference time/date.  Along with the end of the first trimester, there are a variety of events that are filling up our social calendar!
On Friday (9/22), KES hosted its first middle school dance of the school year.  It was great to see our middle school children cutting loose and having fun.  Coming up…KES’ ASB is planning for the Zombie Run on Friday the 13th (10/13).  It will be a fun family event, please contact your child’s teacher, or the KES office for further details.  Also, in partnership with KES’ parent teacher organization, we will host the October Festival the following Friday (10/20).  Planning is in effect, and we look forward to a great community event.  Finally, Halloween is coming.  This is a regular school day, and we are looking forward to having children come dressed in their Halloween costumes for a fun day and learning.  Please remember that children may not bring any weapons to school (even prop weapons that are part of a costume).  Also, masks will be allowed during the parade; however, following the school parade, face masks must be removed and remain off for the remainder of the school day.  7th and 8th grade students may choose to dress up, but will not walk in the school parade.
As always, we are Ohana at KES.  Please feel free to reach out to any of us to discuss your child’s needs.  We keep moving forward, and are committed to the success of every child, in every standard, every day!

Kind regards,

Michael Bunch, Ed. D.                      Annabelle Lee
