UC Scholarship & Programs  https://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/tuition-financial-aid/types-of-aid/grants-and-scholarships.html  Most of the gift aid awarded by UC, the federal government, and the state of California is awarded on the basis of need. Need is determined by the information you provide when you apply for aid, including your expected costs while attending college and your family’s financial resources.  A much smaller portion of gift aid is awarded based on merit – like having a special talent or excelling academically in high school

09.29.20 Deadline. Quest Bridge National College Match. www.questbridge.org Opens a New Window.  Full four-year scholarships. We are seeking applications from high-achieving low-income high school seniors.  Demonstrate high academic achievement; come from a household income of less than $65,000 for a typical family of four, with limited assets.  Essays and short answers, high school transcript, 2 letters of recommendation from high school teachers. 

09.30.20  Deadline.  Money Metals Exchange Scholarship www.moneymetals.com/scholarship  $500-$1,000.  Graduating senior, copy of transcript, essay on one question located on the website.

10.05.20 Deadline. AES Engineers.  http://aesengineers.com/scholarships.php  $500-Award based on character, as determined by an evaluation of the essays that are submitted.   Write an essay on “When you look back on your life in 30 years, what would it take for you to consider your life successful?”  What relationships or accomplishments will be important on this journey? Must be a senior to apply.  Engineering courses not required to be eligible.

10.15.20  Deadline.  NSHSS STEM Scholarships https://www.nshss.org/scholarships/s/nshss-foundation-stem-scholarship/  Award amount $1,000.  Graduating senior with a minimum GPA of 3.0, must demonstrate a desire to pursue a major in one of the STEM disciplines as listed on the website.  Copy of transcript, essay, and letters of educator recommendations.

10.16.20 Deadline. Young Arts www.youngarts.org/apply   up to $10,000-Young Art identifies and nurtures emerging artists in the visual, literary and performing arts.  By providing once-in-a-lifetime opportunities significant access to scholarships and national recognition.  Young Arts ensures the nations’ most outstanding high school students are encouraged – at critical junctures in their lives to pursue careers in the arts.  Open to grades 10-12.

10.25.20  Deadline.  Horatio Alger Association Scholarship  https://scholars.horatioalger.org/scholarships/. Award amount $2,500.  Graduating senior seeking to pursue a career or technical education in a post-secondary environment, demonstrate financial need, be a US citizen, be enrolled in a 2 year or less career or technical degree/certificate program in Fall.

10.30.20 Deadline.  Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Scholarships  https://www.jkcf.org/our-scholarships/college-scholarship-program/how-to-apply/   Up to $40,000 per year to attend a four-year accredited undergraduate school in the Fall of 2021.  Earn a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above.  Must demonstrate unmet financial need. We will consider applicants with family income up to $95,000. Last year’s cohort of new college scholarship recipients had a median family income of approximately $35,000.

 

10.31.20 Deadline. Coca-Cola Scholarship- $20,000  www.coca-colascholarsfoundation.org/apply/ This is an achievement-based scholarship for graduating high school senior.  College bound, demonstrate community service, minimum GPA 3.0, U.S. citizen.  

10.31.20  Deadline.  VFW’s Voice of Democracy Scholarship Competition  vfw.org/FindaPost   Award amount $1,000-$30,000, open to students 9-12 grades.  This program provides students the opportunity to express themselves in regards to democratic ideas and principles.  The 2020-21 theme is:  “Is This the Country the Founders Envisioned”

11.06.20 Deadline. Good Tidings Foundation Community Service Award.  https://goodtidings.org/scholarship/ Opens a New Window. 10 @ $10,000-This scholarship is an excellent opportunity for low-income high school seniors who have committed themselves to community service. 

11.12.20 Deadline.  Create Real Impact Scholarship https://createrealimpact.com/  $500-$1,500.  Open to students in 9-12 grades. The Create Real Impact Contest gives you the opportunity to share creative solutions for preventing reckless and distracted driving while winning prizes for your efforts.

11.15.20  Deadline.  Elks MVP Scholarship https://www.elks.org/scholars/scholarships/MVS.cfm $1,000-$12,500. Senior planning to attend a 4 yr. Education Program.  Must be a U.S. citizen, demonstrate leadership qualities and financial need. 

11.30.20  Deadline.  Driver Education Initiative Scholarship    www.dmvEdu.org/scholarship/  Award amount $500.   Must be currently attending high school.  The essay contest

“In The Driver’s Seat” seeks to have applicants highlight the importance of being a safe and educated river.  Submit an essay of less than 500 words to the following questions:

 1) what is the importance of driver education in reducing the number deaths as a result of driving? 2) what steps can be taken to reduce the number of deaths related to driving?

3) have you ever had an experience of being in car accident or have seen your friends or family members driving irresponsibly?  4) what steps can you take to be a better and safer driver as well as help others become safer on the road?  Along with your submission, please include a picture of yourself, which we can post on our site to go along with your essay.

12.04.20  Deadline. Gladys Z. Ashjian Memorial Scholarship  $1,000.  Application available on school’s website.  Open to Tracy High graduating seniors, college bound, GPA of 2.8 or better, planning a teaching vocation, essay explaining reason for choosing a teaching profession, one letter of recommendation from a faculty member and copy of unofficial transcript.  

12.11.20  Deadline.   Icardi Memorial Scholarship.  Application available on THS website.  Award amount $500, graduating Tracy High School senior, college bound, must demonstrate leadership qualities.  This would include participation in community, religious or service organizations. Actively participated in athletics, employed or worked on a part-time basis during high school or summer vacation.  Cumulative GPA of at least a 3.2 on a 4.0 scale

12.31.20  Deadline.  Navy ROTC Scholarship http://www.nrotc.navy.mil   Several scholarship opportunities. Graduating high school senior, must be a U.S or naturalized citizen.  Major in a degree of your choice regardless of officer specialty, guaranteed job, earn a salary immediately after college.  Must provide SAT/ACT scores, copy of transcript.  See your local Navy recruiter for more information.

04.23.20 Deadline. TSMA Tracy School Management Association, $500. Must be graduating senior from Tracy High, West High, Kimball High Stein High or Duncan Russell.
