TUSD Philosophy Statement
Transitional Kindergarten (TK) in TUSD is designed to provide a safe, healthy and nurturing environment.  The academic, moral, social, emotional and physical needs of each child will be met to ensure early school success and to close the achievement gap.
The TK program will honor and celebrate the many cultures represented in our District.  Each family will be invited to participate in their child’s education, thus fostering an active partnership between home and school.

In TK, teachers help children develop social skills through activities that build confidence and communication. They also expose children to reading and math in an exciting, interactive way by using educational games to teach children about words and sentences and help them understand mathematical concepts like counting and patterns.

Eligibility
If your child’s birthday falls between September 2, 2019, and June 2, 2020, your child is eligible for Transitional Kindergarten in the 2024-2025 school year.

Registration

Your child’s birthdate must fall between September 2nd, 2019, and June 2nd, 2020, to register for Transitional Kindergarten for the 2024-2025 School Year.

To register your student for Transitional Kindergarten, please use our Online Enrollment Form found on our website at: www.tracy.k12.ca.us and navigate to the “Parents” tab at the top of the page and select: Aeries Online Enrollment.

You will need to allow 20-30 minutes to complete this online registration. You must have a valid e-mail address to complete the Registration Process. Once you have completed the online enrollment form, please print the document, sign the last page, and bring it with copies of the following documents to your zoned school after MARCH 1, 2024:

·         Proof of residency documents:

       o   Current Mortgage statement, Rental Agreement, or Property Tax bill with parent/guardian legal name and residence address listed, and

       o   Recent utility bill (PG&E, City of Tracy, etc), listing name and address dated within the last 30 days, and

       o   One other recent bill listing name and address OR current drivers license or CA ID from DMV showing updated address, and

       o   Completed TUSD Student Residency Questionnaire/Affidavit.

· Birth Certificate or Government-issued passport

· Physician-stamped Immunization Record

· Valid Parent/Guardian Photo ID

· Dental Oral Health Assessment duly completed by a licensed dentist or licensed registered dental health professional (Grades TK/K/1 only)

· Custody or other Legal Documents (if applicable)

· Copy of IEP/504 Plan (if applicable)

Please bring a copy of your printed and signed Online Enrollment Form and all the completed required documents to your zoned school. Incomplete registration packets will not be accepted. Please do not email these documents.
