2026-2027 APPLICATION

In order for an application to be considered complete, the following paperwork and documentation is required to be turned in together, and must be submitted in-person by the KHS Counseling Office by December 12, 2025, by 4:00PM.

Students/families will be notified until December 19th, 2025 regarding their student's admittance status.

Decision Medicine is a 2-week program hosted by the San Joaquin Medical Society that introduces students to the field of medicine through personal mentoring opportunities, site visits, and behind-the-scene experiences. You must be at least 16 years old and a current high school student in San Joaquin County. The Summer STEM institute (SSI) is a virtual 6-week long summer program for high school students. SSI consists of a data science and research bootcamp, guest speakers from Stanford, Harvard, and MIT, and personalized research projects. to apply online visit

KHS After School Tutoring

When quarter grades are posted, students that are in-danger-of failing any of their courses will receive a notice of academic probation and will be required to attend a minimum of 2 hours of tutoring per week until their grade has improved.

Take a moment to check out the degrees offered at San Joaquin Delta College. Visit https://www.deltacollege.edu/degree-programs and select Degrees in Health and Fitness. If you are interested in attending classes while still in High School, be sure to contact Mr. Silva (dsilva@tusd.net) to sign up for Dual Enrollment or the College Early Start Program.

Medical Terminology Students: Your class is articulated with Delta College. Please email Mr. Silva for information on how to acquire College Units at the end of the school year.

Q - Can a student leave the academy?
A - Kimball MHSA is a 4 year commitment.  It is expected that students and parents honor that commitment.  

Q - Does the academy 4-year plan meet the a-g requirements?
A - Yes. 

Q - If my child does not get in their freshman year will they have an opportunity to get in their sophomore year?
A - Students can enter into the academy between their freshmen and sophomore  years if space is available.  Students will not be accepted into the academy their junior or senior years.

Q - If I can't make an extra curricular activities will it affect my grade?
A - If you miss extra-curricular activities your grade will not be affected. However, you will miss out on some amazing experiences.  

Q - Will there be a separate dress code for the Academy?
A - In addition to following the Kimball High School dress code, academy student will be expected to wear scrubs provided by the academy every Tuesday and Thursday.
