Tracy Teacher Induction Program
Every new hire in the District participates in TTIP and receives six days of pre-service training, four days of
follow-up training with substitute coverage provided, regular classroom follow-up and support, and an
assigned site support person.
The six days of pre-service induction are filled with activities which explain the Districts' professional
expectations and the District culture, classroom management techniques, effective teaching strategies,
lesson design as well as planning using the District adopted curriculum and content standards. One of
these six days is designated as a Site Orientation day where the new hire is welcomed and introduced to
the sites' culture by the principal.
Four release days are provided throughout the first year in the District. These days are for additional
training, planning, classroom visitation and observation.
Pre-interns, interns, or new teachers not participating in the BTSA Program will have a site Partner Teacher
who will support everyday needs and provide explanations about how business is accomplished at the
A Staff Development Specialist will also be assigned to assist with curriculum and instruction and planning
and implementing effective teaching methodologies. The staff development specialist will provide on-
going individualized support throughout the year by visiting the class, providing demonstration lessons
and assisting with planning and teaching.

Teachers will meet at the Staff Development Training Room located at 1945 W Lowell Ave, District Training & Technology Center, Bldg B.
Due to assigned employee parking at the DSC/DTTC, please park in the Visitor lot located along Lowell Ave in front of the district office (DEC - District Education Center) or the adjacent West High School lot.
