Peer Assistance and Review

The Tracy Unified School District operates a Peer Assistance and Review Program (PAR). The program
allows exemplary teachers to assist others in the areas of instructional skills, pupil progress, learning
environment/classroom management, adherence to curricular/learning objectives, and/or related
aspects of teaching.
 
Participating teachers would be referred to and required to participate in the PAR program as a result of
an unsatisfactory rating of the employee's performance in any of the first five California Standards for the
Teaching Profession:
  • Engaging and supporting all students in learning.
  • Creating and maintaining effective environments for student learning.
  • Understanding and organizing subject matter for student learning.
  • Planning instruction and designing learning experiences for all students.
  • Assessing student learning.
A classroom teacher may request assistance through the PAR process as a voluntary participant.
