OPEN SUBSTITUTE POSITIONS
IMPORTANT NOTICE: CalPERS retirees cannot be in an on-call substitute pool. Violations could include repayment of your retirement benefits to PERS (reference CalPERS Publication 33 - Employment After Retirement). To comply with PERS, we are not able have retirees as active substitutes.
Swing Education is NOT employed by TUSD to hire substitutes. All candidates interested in subbing for TUSD must apply directly to an open TUSD substitute posting.
DIRECT DEPOSIT ANNOUNCEMENT
4/8/2025
Starting the April 30, 2025 pay period, the District will be transitioning to a new vendor for processing direct deposits due to the current vendor discontinuing this service.
Previously, some financial institutions have made paychecks available a day or more before the scheduled pay date as a courtesy to their customers. This practice is separate from and unrelated to our vendor processing the direct deposits and is specific to each employee’s bank. We do not know if this practice will continue.
Moving forward, we recommend all employees plan for their paycheck to be deposited on the scheduled pay date, which is either the last day of the month or the 10th day of the month.
If these dates fall on a weekend or a holiday, your deposit will be made on the preceding business day.

IMPORTANT POLICIES
All Substitutes are to abide by District and School protocols at all times.
Substitute jobs are on an as-needed basis. TUSD is unable to guarantee part-time or full-time work as a substitute.
The District only manages and encourages the use of Frontline, as it is a free app that allows access to all TUSD jobs.
- Check in with the School Site office upon arrival. All substitutes should arrive 15 minutes early to assignments.
- Always have badge and wear appropriate attire. Utility II and Food Service Worker substitutes should wear the District provided uniform.
- Doors are to be locked during class time when students are present in the classroom. Substitute teachers can unlock doors as needed for authorized personnel or during scheduled breaks, balancing safety with accessibility.
- Always return keys to school site. Never take keys home.

SUB PAYROLL
All Timesheets are due to HR each month on the 15th
Pay Periods run from the 16th - 15th each month; Payday is on the 10th of the following month
