Board of Education
The Board of Education is elected by voters within each of the seven (7) trustee area boundaries to provide leadership and citizen oversight of the district's schools. Tracy Unified's Board of Education is composed of seven elected officials who fulfill the following major roles:
- Developing a long-term vision for the district;
- Establishing and maintaining a basic organizational structure for the district, including the selection of the Superintendent who works with the Board to implement the district vision;
- Ensuring educational program accountability and fiscal accountability to the local community; and
- Providing leadership and advocacy at the local, state and national levels on behalf of children, district programs and public education.
Board of Education meetings are open to the public. Meetings are typically scheduled for the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month starting at 7 p.m. in the District Education Center Boardroom, 1875 W. Lowell Ave. Regular Meetings are live streamed and also shown on local cable Channel 26.
