Dr. Rob Pecot, Superintendent
It seems like the school year just started, but we are already halfway through the first quarter of the year. It has been a pleasure attending back to school nights, club and parent meetings, sporting events, and community activities. I am looking forward attending more as the semester progresses.
You might have noticed a new “entry buzzer system” at many of our schools. We are systematically phasing in these entry systems where plausible into our schools to enhance safety district wide. As a district and community, we are constantly looking at improving safety on our campuses. Keeping our students safe is one of our top priorities. Throughout the semester and year you will see additional changes that are being implemented with student and staff safety in mind.
The election ballot this November you will feature a local Measure O, which is a school improvement bond. This bond, if passed, would be controlled locally and would be used to upgrade K-8 facilities. For more information about the bond please visit https://www.tracy.k12.ca.us/about-us/bond-2024.
In partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Tracy, NAACP and TAAA, on October 1st we will have a Parent Engagement Meeting that will focus on empowering parents to better understand and navigate the TUSD Educational System. Cabinet and I will be present to answer questions and provide clarification on any policies or procedures community members may have. The event will be held at the Geri Neylan Theatre at Kimball High School. There will be light refreshments available at 6:00 pm with the event proceeding at 6:30.
AED
(Automated External Defibrillator)
All school sites now have at least one Automated External Defibrillator (AED) on campus, with locations strategically chosen to be centrally located for quick access during emergencies. This initiative is a significant step in ensuring the safety and well-being of both students and staff. By having AEDs readily available, schools are better prepared to respond swiftly to cardiac emergencies, enhancing the overall safety of the campus community.

BOND MEASURE O
Tracy Unified has placed a facilities bond measure on this November's ballot. If Measure O passes, this bond would contribute to providing safety and campus security systems, upgrading of our older schools, provide labs and technology to support high-quality instruction; repair/remove hazardous materials such as lead pipes from older schools; and replace deteriorting roofs, plumbing, gas lines, sewer lines and electrical system. TUSD cannot advertise for or against this bond, but can provide facts about it. For more information, please visit the bond website HERE.

This Novemeber will be the first election with our new trustee areas in place. You will only be able to vote for the trustee representing your residential area. TUSD Board was divided into 7 areas.
