The construction of the new Central School is well underway. It is exciting to begin to see the walls going up and the structure beginning to come to shape. This new facility will be a wonderful addition to the district and community as well as providing a high quality learning environment for Central students. TUSD is working on its’ deferred maintenance projects for the summer and like last year, it will once again be very busy once the school year ends. Through the support of the community passing three school bonds and the commitment of staff to completing important deferred maintenance projects, the district’s facilities have never been better.
As odd as it may sound, the district is already preparing for the 2018-19 school year. High school students are selecting their courses for next year which leads to hiring decisions for the district. Work is underway on our next budget as the Governor has just recently shared his fiscal plan for our state. Spring is our busiest time of the year with planning, hiring and end of the year activities.
I have been in many classrooms this year and have observed outstanding instruction by our teachers. Our teachers are working to prepare creative lessons so that our students can succeed academically. Please communicate with your child’s teacher to insure that your student has their best year possible.
Please do not hesitate to contact your child’s school if you have an issue or concern. We all have the same goal of seeing our students succeed in the classroom.
