Dear West High Families:

It seems like we are at full speed again. Sometimes I wonder if there is even a summer break.  We had a wonderful first day of school with the red carpet.  It is so much fun to see your students coming in to school on their first day with the excitement of the new year on their faces.

We had an awesome turnout at Back to School Night.  It was thrilling to meet so many of you.  I want to thank you for your support of West High School.  Athletic teams are all competing against other schools. The football team won its first game of the year at Lathrop.  It was great to see the Blue Crew traveling to an away game.  Hundreds of students signed up for various clubs during rush week.

As you can probably tell students and families are quite busy with school back in session.  I believe it is good for students to be active in academics as well as clubs, sports and other school activities.  When I was a little boy, we kept busy playing sports in the street, tag with the neighbors, or army with the whole neighborhood.  Staying active helped all of us as youngsters to develop healthy habits as well as keep us out of trouble.  With all that is going on, there is something for everyone at West High School.  We have activities for all.  It is also good for our students to learn to balance the activities with the academics.  Progress reports are coming out soon, so please stay on top of those grades.

We are going to have a wonderful year. Thank you again for your support.
