Dear Panda Families,
As we approach the holiday season and the end of the year, it is a great time to reflect on what we have done to make a difference in the lives of others. Students learn at a young age about giving through modeling from parents/guardians, siblings, grandparents and special people in their lives. Giving also teaches students about building character and citizenship as they discover the special joys of doing or giving something special to someone. Encourage your child to make a card for someone in a nursing home or draw a picture for a family friend or relative. Children can also donate outgrown toys, games and clothes to the needy. Make a big deal of how they are going to pass them on to other children who need these items.
This year, Villalovoz, our student council and staff will be participating in the spirit of Giving by collecting new toys to donate to Brighter Christmas. Our school’s goal is collect 100 toys to donate to needy children in Tracy.
Remember, the most important gift you can give your child is the gift of time.  Spending time with your child is truly a gift they will appreciate and enjoy. I would encourage you to make time to create some special memories with your family this holiday season.
On behalf of all of us at Villalovoz Elementary School, we would like to wish your family a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, a Joyous Kwanzaa and the best the New Year has to offer!
See you next year!
Ms. Karim
