 WHAT'S HAPPENING

  • THANK YOU TO OUR PTO! They were very busy last year - here are a few great things they did last year:
    • Raised $34,332.55
      • From the funds raised the teacher earned $16,169.85 from fundraisers like the Fireworks booth, Fall Festival, and Holiday Shoppe
      • Art Docents received $1,315.72
    • Donated the sound system for the MPR
    • From box tops donations we were able to repair instruments for our Music Department
    • Currently, PTO is working on fixing our Marquee

  • Music Department - Choir practice every Wednesday 3-3:30PM in Room 42
  • Staff Parking Lot
    • New signs have been posted in our staff parking lot. The staff parking lot is ONLY for staff and requires a permit to park in this area. Any vehicle parked in this area without a permit will be cited or towed by city officials. To ensure safety, our parking lot is monitored by the Tracy Police Department.
  • Parents please DO NOT use the parking lot as a drop off or pick up area! It is not safe for the children.
  • Attendance is IMPORTANT!
    • Teachers cannot teach students who are not in school. There is strong evidence that shows regular attendance can result in significant improvements in test scores.
    • Each month, our school goal is 98% attendance.
  • Closed Campus
    • All visitors must sign in at the office and wear a visitor's sticker.  We are a closed campus for the safety of all our students.

 PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Dear George Kelly Families,

The school year is off to a quick start with many activities already happening on campus! Students are getting activities off to a great start with energy and enthusiasm!!!
7th grade volleyball permission slips have gone out and practice will soon be beginning! Keep an eye and ear out for the game announcements.  Make sure to come our and support our players and cheer them on!
On August 15th, Dr. Wilson and Ms. Petty had the opportunity to chat with some parents in the library while enjoying some sweet treats and refreshments during our monthly Kelly’s Parent Korner . We will be hosting this opportunity each month this year for parents to have an opportunity to come chat with us or other parents. Our Kelly’s Parent Korner  will be from 1:00-1:45pm in the library. Feel free to stop by, enjoy some treats and say Hello. We look forward to seeing you there!
Sincerely,
