Announcements and Events

Universal Breakfast Program

Jacobson has a universal breakfast program where every child has the opportunity for a free breakfast. Breakfast starts at 7:55 a.m. for kindergartners and 8:05 a.m. for grades 1-5. There is no cost for this breakfast
Student Lunch Dropoff
If you are dropping off lunch for a student, we ask that all lunches are in the office by 11:15 a.m. regardless of the grade level. We have a pen/post-it for you to mark your Childs lunch. We tell all the students that if you do not have a lunch, please check the office on your way to the cafeteria. We do not call the classrooms to let them know there is a lunch in the office.
Arrival/Dismissal Car Line
At dismissal, all students will proceed through the front gates to the car line up. All bus students will report to the side of the school (Camilia Drive) where the bus pick-up is. Students are not allowed to be picked up on the side of the school.
  • We are asking parents of 3:00 p.m. students to please wait until 2:50 p.m. to enter the car pick-up line. This gives the parents of 2:30 dismissal time to pick up their students.
  • We are asking kindergarten PM parents to please wait until 3:10 p.m. before getting in the car pick-up line, so that our 3:00 pm students can be picked up.

If cars are in line before their time and during dismissal, it causes a major back up.

Dear Jacobson Families,
Many of our third through fifth grade classes have begun state testing this week.  Those classes not starting will begin once we come back to school after Spring break.  To help your child during this time, it is very important to make sure that they get plenty of sleep, arrive to school on time, eat a healthy breakfast, and bring a nutritious snack.  You can also help them by encouraging them to do their best, work carefully, and check their answers.  The tests are not timed, and most are done on the computer.  These are computer adaptive tests in English Language Arts and Mathematics.  In fifth grade, there is also a paper-based test in Science.  To learn about the types of questions on the computer-based test, you and your child can view the practice test online at the California Department of Education (CDE) Smarter Balanced Practice Test Web page at
I hope you and your family have a wonderful time during the Spring break!
