SBAC Testing
All  3rd through 5th grade students will begin taking the SBAC test this Spring. The Smarter Balanced Assessment System utilizes computer-adaptive tests and performance tasks that allow students to show what they know and are able to do. This system is based on the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for English language arts/literacy (ELA) and mathematics. It is very important that students arrive at school on time and get a good night’s sleep so they are prepared for the test.
The schedule is below.
April 10th-13th —Mrs. Holloway, Mrs. O’Brien & Mrs. Bower
April 16th-20th – Ms. Welch, Mrs. Arellano & Mrs. Easley
April 23rd-27th  –Mrs. Jacinto, Ms. Leigh & Ms. Ortega
April 30th-May 4th  – Mrs. Morse, Ms. Barwig & Mrs. Miller
May 7th-11th—Mr. Parsons, Ms. Masuda

Universal Breakfast Program

Jacobson has a universal breakfast program where every child has the opportunity for a free breakfast.

Student Lunch Dropoff
If you are dropping off lunch for a student, we ask that all lunches are in the office by 11:15 a.m. regardless
of the grade level. We have a pen/post-it for you to mark your Childs lunch. We tell all the students that if
you do not have a lunch, please check the office on your way to the cafeteria. We do not call the classrooms
to let them know there is a lunch in the office.
Arrival/Dismissal Car Line
At dismissal, all students will proceed through the front gates to the car line up. All bus students will report

to the side of the school (Camilia Drive) where the bus pick-up is. Students are not allowed to be picked up

on the side of the school.

  • We are asking parents of 3:00 p.m. students to please wait until 2:50 p.m. to enter the car pick-up line.
  • This gives the parents of 2:30 dismissal time to pick up their students.
  • We are asking kindergarten PM parents to please wait until 3:10 p.m. before getting in the car pick-up
  •  line, so that our 3:00 pm students can be picked up.

If cars are in line before their time and during dismissal, it causes a major back up.

Welcome to Jacobson Elementary!
Home of the Jaguars!
At Jacobson we strive to inspire students to be lifelong learners by providing engaging, rigorous curriculum and relevant collaborative learning opportunities.  The Jacobson School community will prepare students to solve real world 21st century problems and empower students to value diversity, themselves and others. As principal, I am proud to be part of the Jacobson community where students come first.
I have had the pleasure of working in education for the past 17 years, 11 of those years as a school administrator.  It truly is my pleasure to work with your child and serve the community of Tracy. Before coming to Tracy as the principal of Jacobson I served as Vice Principal at both an elementary and middle school and worked as the District liaison for the School Attendance Review Board.  I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction and a Clear Administrative Credential.  When I am not at work I love spending time with my 8 year old son. He plays travel baseball year round so my days, nights and weekends are spent on the ball fields.  My son’s education is of the utmost importance to me, just as your child’s education is of the utmost importance to all of us here at Jacobson.  I strongly believe the success of our students depends on a strong relationship between school and home.  Communication is at the center of this   Together we will continue to make Jacobson Elementary an exceptional place of learning!  I look forward to working with you and your child this year.
Thank you,
Tania Salinas
