Universal Breakfast Program

Jacobson has a universal breakfast program where every child has the opportunity for a free breakfast.
Student Lunch Dropoff
If you are dropping off lunch for a student, we ask that all lunches are in the office by 11:15 a.m. regardless
of the grade level. We have a pen/post-it for you to mark your Childs lunch. We tell all the students that if
you do not have a lunch, please check the office on your way to the cafeteria. We do not call the classrooms
to let them know there is a lunch in the office.
Arrival/Dismissal Car Line
At dismissal, all students will proceed through the front gates to the car line up. All bus students will report

to the side of the school (Camilia Drive) where the bus pick-up is. Students are not allowed to be picked up

on the side of the school.

  • We are asking parents of 3:00 p.m. students to please wait until 2:50 p.m. to enter the car pick-up line.
  • This gives the parents of 2:30 dismissal time to pick up their students.
  • We are asking kindergarten PM parents to please wait until 3:10 p.m. before getting in the car pick-up
  •  line, so that our 3:00 pm students can be picked up.

If cars are in line before their time and during dismissal, it causes a major back up.

Dear Parents,
Thank you so much for sharing your children with us this school year. We wish our 5th graders moving onto middle school the best of luck and look forward to seeing the rest of our little Jaguars on August 7th, 2017.  Class  lists will be posted at the school on August 4th after 5:00 p.m.  Next year our volunteer policy will be changing. In order to go on any fieldtrip or attend any classroom event such as class party , volunteers will have to go through the Volunteer Application process.  There will no longer be the one-time allowance.  I encourage every parent to fill out the Volunteer Application now so that you are cleared and ready to volunteer for the 2017-2018 school year. Parent participation at Jacobson Elementary is vital.  We could not possibly go on all of the fieldtrips or have class events without parent support.  If you have any questions about the Volunteer Application process please contact our office secretary, Carmine Sousa at 209-830-3315 X7552.  We appreciate and value parent support.
With the school year coming to a close, many parents wonder how to keep their children active and engaged in learning during the traditional summer break.  Here are a few suggestions from Jack O’Connell, former California State Superintendent of Public Instruction.  Set aside time each day to read: Read the morning newspaper with your children, or find a good book at the library or bookstore. Reading keeps children's minds active and engaged and ready to learn when they go back to school. Turn off the television and computer and play outside. Go grocery shopping with your children: Let them help you plan your meals. Then you can teach them the value of good nutrition, balanced meals, and making healthy choices. While at the grocery store, let the children add up the price of groceries. This will teach them about math. Let your kids teach you how to use a computer: Using technology comes naturally to children who were born in the Internet age. Letting them be the teacher teaches them how to engage their parents in conversation, patience, and makes you listen to each other, which may become a bonding experience.   From everyone at Jacobson we wish you a wonderful summer break.  Enjoy your time off with family.  See you August 7th
