 PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Dear Central Parents,

Central School’s average daily attendance last year was 95.44%.
Research show that attendance is one of the most important factors in school success.  Studies show that students who are absent more often score lower on standardized tests.
Because we felt attendance is vital to school success we have many incentives for our students.  PAWS, certificates , bikes and ice cream parties are some of our rewards.
The true rewards, of course are the discussions, teacher explanations, student questions and classroom lessons.  These are essential for learning.  When a child is sick, it is best for her (or him) and for all the class if  she / he stays home.  Aside from      illness and rare family emergencies, students need to be in school daily.
Our attendance rate has been steadily improving over the years.  It is obvious Central parents are dedicated to their children’s attendance and education.  Now , let’s see if we can make  98 % attendance!

Sincerely,
Nancy Morgan Link
