 PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Dear Bohn Family—
Welcome to the 2015-2016 school year!  As the new principal of Bohn Elementary, I am very excited to meet all of you and begin the new school year.
A little about myself: I am a native of the Bay Area but made the Central Valley my home 10 years ago.  This will be my 20th year in education and my 15th as a school administrator.  Most recently, I come from the Lammersville School District, where I spent nine years as a principal.  Being on a school site with students, teachers and families is my passion.  I approach each child as if they are my own and work alongside our teachers and yourselves to ensure our children grow – in and out of the classroom.  It is important to me that our children learn to be hard-working students and responsible citizens that contribute to our school community in a positive manner.  Together, we can work to help our students achieve this goal.

I’ve already met with our Bohn Parent Teacher Organization.  We are hoping to introduce some new community and fundraising events, but are really looking to get more families involved.  Please be on the lookout for more information from our Bohn PTO.  Hopefully, you will find an opportunity to be more involved!
I am a firm believer that the success of our children depends heavily on the positive relationship between home and school.  When our children see that we are working together to help them achieve their goals, this gives them the confidence to work diligently.  Because of this, communication is key from both sides.  Please be sure to get to know your child’s teacher and give them all possible ways of communicating with you.  Our children’s success depends on it.
Finally, my door is open.  Should you have a question, concern or just want to introduce yourself, please come by the office and see me – anytime.  As I stated above, I am excited to become part of the Bohn family.
Respectfully,
Lemuel A. Vergara, Principal
