1. Good morning Mustangs!!  Today in history: On March 7, 1879: Alexander Graham Bell receives a patent for his revolutionary new invention – the telephone.  

2. The office staff would like to kindly remind all students who have been absent to please get an admit in the library BEFORE SCHOOL STARTS. Too many students are missing valuable instructional time because they forget to get admits before school.

3. It is time for the Monte Vista word of the day! Today’s word is BOORISH meaning rude, unrefined and clumsy. Here is an example of how to use the word in your everyday vocabulary: “That was very BOORISH of you to speak to an adult that way.”

4. March is Women’s History month! Every day we will highlight important fact pertaining to women’s history. Your interesting fact for today is:  Amelia Earhart is the first woman to cross the Atlantic Ocean in an airplane in 1928.   

5. Hey Mustangs, March is also National Nutrition Month. Purple and Blue foods are packed with antioxidants, help with memory, and reduce your cancer risks. Enjoy such fruits such as blackberries, blueberries, plums, raisins in your cereal, salads, pancakes. Don’t forget your blue and purple veggies such as eggplants, purple cabbage for your salads. Eat your fruit and veggies at lunch. Stay healthy Mustangs!

6. Attention 8th grade students!! Tracy High Cheerleading Team will be holding an informational meeting on Monday, March 12 at 6:30pm at the THS Emma B Theater. There will be going through all of the necessary paperwork for try-outs and information for the 2012-2013 school year. Try-outs will be held the week of March 26-29. Go Bulldogs!!

7. 8th Graders:  4th period today your promotion packets will be distributed.  Please take them home and share this information with your parents and decide which events you will be participating in.  Permission slips and money are due to the office no later than Monday, April 9th.  Don’t be late or you risk not getting to participate.  Remember grades and suspensions may limit your participation!

8. Open House is coming March 14! Bring your family and show off your academic talents and the beautification of our school! Classes will be open from 6:30-8:00pm.

9. 8th Graders, remember your fundraiser packets and money are due no later than next Monday.  Please turn in everything to Mrs. Woodman in the office.  This money will help pay for your promotion activities!
