Each summer, if State funding allows, the Tracy Unified School District offers a Summer School Program for students currently attending Tracy Unified schools.  Three main programs are offered:

K-4:

This remedial program is designed for current Kindergarten through fourth grade students who are in danger of retention, who are not meeting grade level standards, or who are performing below average on standardized tests.  Intensive Language Arts/Reading and Mathematics instruction is given.  In order to be enrolled in this program, students must have a recommendation from their current classroom teacher or administrator, indicating that the student qualifies for this program.  Attendance Policy for grades K – 8 – Elementary and Middle School Programs:  Students are allowed three absences for any reason and will be automatically dropped upon the 4th absence.  Three tardies equate to one absence.

5-8:

This middle school program is a strictly remedial program for students currently in fifth through eighth grades.  This program is for students who have failed and need to make up credits in order to graduate, who are in danger of retention, who are not meeting grade level standards, or who are performing below-average on standardized testing.  Remedial instruction in Language Arts, Social Studies, Mathematics and Science is given.  In order to be enrolled in this program, a student must have a recommendation from his/her current counselor or administrator, indicating that the student qualifies for this program. Attendance Policy for grades K – 8 – Elementary and Middle School Programs:  Students are allowed three absences for any reason and will be automatically dropped upon the 4th absence.  Three tardies equate to one absence.

9-12:

The Tracy Unified School District will be offering a Summer School program for District High School students.  Students currently attending a Tracy Unified High School, and incoming 9th graders who will be attending a Tracy Unified High School may apply to attend. District students are enrolled on a first-come, first serve basis. Applications are date-stamped upon receipt. Students currently attending District Schools will be given priority enrollment over non-district students.  Non-district students will be placed on a waiting list until all district students have been placed.  Transportation will be the responsibility of parents.  The District will not provide bussing.

General Information:

Submission of an application does not guarantee enrollment into a Summer Program.  All courses in the Summer Program are contingent upon State funding.  Student enrollment is based on a first-come-first-serve basis, the district's ability to hire qualified teachers, and sufficient student enrollment per class.

The Tracy Unified School District considers Summer School to be a privilege that we are able to offer to our students.  In return for this privilege, the District requires all students to follow the strict attendance and behavior policies that are in effect during Summer School.

Transportation:

The District WILL NOT provide busing.  Transportation to and from Summer School will be the responsibility of parents/guardians.
