The district's process to qualify GATE teachers begins with the district's hiring process. Principals and the GATE coordinator select qualified candidates based on in-depth knowledge of subject matter and the ability to differentiate curriculum in a gifted environment. In addition, candidates make a commitment to attend workshops on differentiation and other topics in gifted education.
